About this map

The Meramec River winds through the heart of this Crawford County landscape, where the karst topography of the Missouri Ozarks is on full display. The area's complex hydrology is defined by significant natural features such as Onondaga Spring and Cathedral Spring, alongside the confluence of Huzzah Creek and Courtois Creek as they join the Meramec. Within the southern portion of the map, the Mark Twain National Forest encompasses much of the terrain, protecting the slopes around Lea Hill and the unique landform known as The Narrows.
