The High Plains landscape of Gove County is defined by the drainage systems of the Hackberry Creek watershed. The Middle Br Hackberry Cr and S Br Hackberry Cr create a network of draws and intermittent channels that carve through the prairie terrain. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, Plum Cr further shapes the local topography.
