The High Uintas Primitive Area and Ashley National Forest define this high-altitude landscape in Duchesne County, where the Lake Fork River carves a deep path through the glacial terrain. This 2014 survey documents a network of alpine lakes and basins, including Brown Duck Basin and Ottoson Basin, situated beneath the peaks of Brown Duck Mtn. The hydrology is particularly dense here, with numerous small bodies of water such as Picture Lake, Stewart Lake, and Clement Lake clustered in the southern portion of the quadrangle.
