Paint Lick and the surrounding landscapes of Garrard, Madison, and Lincoln counties are defined by a complex network of knobs and hollows. The terrain transitions from the lowlands of Paint Lick Creek to prominent heights like Button Lick Knob and Steve Knob. A legacy of early transit is preserved in the path of the Old Railroad Grade Rd, which winds through the northern portion of the map near Lowell and Manse.
