Paradise Valley dominates this high-desert landscape in the Trans-Pecos, situated along the county line between Presidio and Brewster Counties. The terrain is characterized by a series of prominent mesas and volcanic formations, including Gemelo Mesa and Whirlwind Mesa to the north, which rise above the ephemeral drainage systems of Paradise Draw and Hackberry Draw. In the south, the valley narrows toward Terlingua Creek, a vital water source for this arid region.
