The city of Paris and the nearby town of Subiaco anchor this landscape along the southern edge of the Arkansas River valley. The northern boundary of the map follows the winding course of the river, now part of Lake Dardanelle, where Okane Island sits near the Franklin and Logan county line. The terrain transitions from the low-lying McLean Bottom and Paris Bottoms to the heights of Pine Hill and Rich Mountain.
