Peach Orchard Flat defines the high plateau of Carbon County, Wyoming, in this 2012 survey. The landscape is dominated by a complex network of seasonal drainages and water management infrastructure designed for the arid Western climate. Muddy Cr and Cherokee Cr wind through the terrain, which is deeply carved by named features such as Blue Gap Draw and Robbers Gulch. A significant collection of numbered water control structures, including the Little Robber Detention Dam and Detention Reservoir 1492 Number 2, shows the effort to manage runoff across the N Fork Cottonwood Cr. This modern topographic study preserves the naming conventions of the region's draws and gulches, providing a look at land use in a region where water is the primary architect of the environment.
