2017 Map of Peck Mountain

About this map

Peck Mountain dominates the northwestern corner of this Idaho landscape, where the high elevations of the Payette National Forest meet a complex network of forest development roads and natural drainages. The area is defined by its verticality, transitioning from the peaks of Pyramid Point and Stony Point down into deeply carved features such as Badger Gulch and Traction Gulch. These natural corridors have long dictated travel in the region, seen here in the path of the Council Cuprum Rd as it follows the contours of the N Hornet Cr and Hornet Cr systems. While much of the land remains wilderness, signs of local activity appear at the Flying Y Ranch Airport and along Cemetery Ln. Water sources like Peck Mountain Spring and Horse Spring highlight the essential resources that supported early transit and seasonal use across this high-country terrain.
