Whitefish Bay and the shoreline of Lake Superior dominate this northern Michigan landscape, where the waters of Pendills Bay meet a coastline marked by Salt Point. The area is defined by its complex hydrography, including the namesake Pendills Lake and the smaller Avery Lake and Little Avery Lake further inland. A notable concentration of activity centers on the Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery, situated near the mouth of the creek as it enters the bay.
