2017 Map of Perch Lake

About this map

Ottawa National Forest encompasses the entirety of this glacial landscape in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, defined by an intricate network of kettle lakes and meandering waterways. Dominating the northeastern quadrant, Perch Lake serves as a primary hydrologic hub, connected via Wolf Creek to a series of smaller water bodies including Little Wolf Lake and Bonny Lake. The drainage pattern is complex, with Stump Cr and Golden Cr threading through the timberland toward the Canoe-North Branch Paint River in the southwest. This 2017 survey illustrates the remote character of the region, where access is limited to a system of Forest Service roads such as Federal Forest 2149 Rd and named tracks like Winslow Lake Rd. These routes provide the only infrastructure through a terrain of numerous named marshes and small lakes, such as Hannah Webb Lake and Ebony Lake, reflecting the area's role as a protected wilderness and recreation zone.
