The Stikine-Leconte Wilderness and the Tongass National Forest dominate this maritime landscape near the Wrangell city and borough. High peaks and deep glacial drainages define the area, most notably the high summit of Wrangell Peak and the nearby Garnet Mtn. The terrain drops steeply toward the salt water of the Eastern Passage, which borders the southwestern edge of the sheet.
