LeConte Glacier and Great Glacier dominate this high-altitude landscape along the international border between Alaska and Canada. Situated within the Tongass National Forest, the terrain is defined by massive ice fields and prominent peaks such as Mt Pratt and Castle Mtn. The 2017 survey delineates the boundary between Petersburg Borough and Wrangell Borough, illustrating how administrative lines are drawn across the ice. Below the higher elevations, Shakes Glacier flows through the southern portion of the quadrangle. This map provides a detailed view of the glaciated topography of the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness area at a time when glacial boundaries remain a primary focus of geographical study in the region.
