Peveto Beach sits along a narrow strip of coastal land in Cameron Parish, defined by the immediate proximity of the Gulf of Mexico. The landscape is characterized by a series of low-lying chenier ridges that run parallel to the shoreline, including Eli Ridge, McDermott Ridge, and Blue Buck Ridge. These ridges historically provided higher ground for settlement and roads in an otherwise marshy environment.
