Phillips sits at the intersection of rural routes and natural drainage systems in this north-central Montana landscape. The terrain is defined by the winding paths of Big Warm Cr and Little Warm Cr, which cut through the high plains to form distinctive geographical features like Schoolhouse Coulee and Lonesome Coulee. Significant water management is evident at the Little Warm Reservoir, while the southwest corner of the quadrangle opens into the broad expanse of Parrot Flat near Parrot Lake. This 2017 survey documents a modern network of local access roads including Hog Farm Rd, Veseth Rd, and Midale Rd, reflecting the continued ranching and agricultural use of the Phillips County backcountry.
