Piersol Hills rise above the agricultural grid of northern Douglas County, where the landscape is defined by the massive glacial trench of Moses Coulee. This high plateau region shows a disciplined network of section-line roads, including Wittig Rd Ne and Six Mile Rd, which service the remote farmsteads and rangelands of central Washington. The topography is punctuated by distinct glacial features like Yeager Rock, a massive erratic, and the rounded profiles of the Wheeler Hills and Hook Hills.
