1996 Map of Pikes Peak

USGS Topo · Published 1998

About this map

Mining operations and high-altitude terrain dominate this section of the Flint Creek Range along the boundary of Granite and Powell counties. The landscape is heavily marked by late 20th-century resource extraction, centered around the Master Mining Camp and numerous workings like the Port Royal Mines and Gold Creek Mine. These sites are concentrated along the steep drainages of Gold Creek and Little Gold Creek, where prospectors sought minerals along the Deerlodge Philipsburg Ridge.
