Pine Barren Creek and its numerous tributaries, including Wildcat Cr and Hills Cr, dominate the drainage patterns across this section of Wilcox and Butler Counties. The landscape is dotted with small rural communities and family landmarks, such as Rock Springs in the northwest and Harmony in the southeast. Local history is anchored by several burial grounds, including the Palmer Cem and the Mt Moriah Cem near the settlement of Mount Moriah.
