Pine Grove and its namesake reservoir sit at the base of the eastern slopes of the Wah Wah Mountains in this high-desert landscape of western Utah. The terrain is defined by steep canyons and drainage systems that collect intermittent runoff, including Moonshine Canyon and Rose Spring Canyon. Water management is central to the area's geography, as seen in the presence of Pine Grove Reservoir and Woods Reservoir, which capture flows from the surrounding peaks to support the local environment and land use.
