The Dixie National Forest defines this high-elevation landscape along the border of Utah and Nevada. The settlement at Pine Park serves as a focal point for the region's geography, situated near the headwaters of several drainages including the E Fork Beaver Dam Wash. Water management for livestock or forestry is evident through the placement of the Pine Mountain Reservoir and Wheatgrass Reservoir, while numerous natural springs like Pine Park Spring and Grapevine Spring provide critical water sources in an otherwise arid terrain.
