1986 Map of Pintura

About this map

The dramatic geological shelf of the Hurricane Cliffs dominates this southwestern Utah landscape, separating the high plateaus of the Dixie National Forest from the lower valley floor. Along the base of this massive escarpment, a corridor of settlement and transportation follows the path of Ash Creek, connecting small communities such as Pintura, Anderson Junction, and Toquerville. This 1980s survey captures the region's complex mix of natural water sources and industrial attempts, from the Toquerville Springs to scattered extraction sites including a Quarry and a Gravel Pit.
