Piscoe Meadow and the surrounding drainages of Yakima County are defined by a complex network of forest and tribal access roads, including Bia RD 48 and Old Maid Canyon Rd. The landscape is a series of prominent divides, such as Ahtanum Ridge and Rattlesnake Ridge, which separate the headwaters of the Ahtanum and Simcoe creek systems. A small portion of the Snoqualmie National Forest reaches into the northwest corner, but much of the area is characterized by the intersection of deep canyons like Soda Springs Canyon and Old Maid Canyon. This 2020 survey illustrates the modern land management patterns of the region, where Bureau of Indian Affairs routes provide the primary transit through the high ridges. Named points like Red Saddle and Sedge Ridge serve as important landmarks for navigating the steep, drainage-cut terrain between Middle Fork Ahtanum Cr and N Fork Simcoe Cr.
