About this map

Plainfield occupies the northeastern corner of this Iowa landscape, situated along the Cedar River in a region defined by its productive agricultural grid and intersecting waterways. The town serves as a local hub near the boundary of Butler Co and Bremer Co, with the municipal area organized around Main St and Division St. The surrounding countryside is dotted with historical markers of early settlement, including Willow Lawn Cem near the town center and several rural burial grounds such as Antioch Cem and Pleasant Valley Cem. The hydrography of the area is particularly complex, featuring the winding paths of Beaver Cr, Curry Cr, and the Shell Rock River in the southwest. Modern recreational land use is represented by the Rolling Prairie Trl, which traverses the landscape following an established corridor through the sections of the Public Land Survey System.
