The Dirty Devil R snakes through the southern corner of this Emery County landscape, a vital watercourse in an otherwise arid expanse. The terrain is defined by a network of drainage systems and high points, most notably the elevated Point of Rocks in the east and the broad Little Antelope Valley to the west. This 2011 survey illustrates a sparse wilderness where water and elevation dictate the paths of travel and the few unpaved roads. Deeply carved features like Buck Canyon and Pasture Canyon demonstrate the erosive power of the elements over time. Northward, the landscape transitions into the drainage of Blackburn Draw, showing a primitive network of tracks that serve this remote portion of the Colorado Plateau.
