Point Washington sits at the northern edge of this coastal landscape, situated where Tucker Bayou meets the larger Choctawhatchee Bay. This 2018 survey reveals the contrast between the dense, planned residential grids along the Gulf of Mexico and the vast, undeveloped wetlands of Devils Swamp to the north. The central portion of the map is defined by the Intracoastal Waterway, which cuts east-to-west through the pine-covered lowlands, separated from the coast by a series of unique dune lakes including Eastern Lake, Deer Lake, and Camp Cr Lake.
