Pot Mountain and the Pot Mountain Ridge anchor this remote section of the Bitterroot Range within the Clearwater National Forest. The landscape is defined by a dense network of high-elevation drainages including Lightning Cr, Fisher Cr, and Jackknife Cr, which feed the prominent winding path of the North Fork Clearwater River along the southern border. Near the northern peaks, Pot Lake and Jack Lake sit in high basins, reflecting a pristine wilderness topography before it descends toward the river valley.
