Potters Ponds and the headwaters of several drainages define this high-elevation landscape along the boundary of Wasco and Jefferson counties. The terrain is characterized by broad plateaus such as Mill Creek Flat and Miller Flat, which are dissected by steep-walled features like Wolford Canyon. Water is a defining element of the geography, with Shitike Creek carving a deep valley in the southern portion of the quadrangle while Mill Cr and Middle Cr flow through the northern sections.
