Prewitt and the surrounding high desert terrain are defined by a complex network of ancient sites and modern infrastructure. This 2011 survey documents the Coyotes Sing Here Archaeological District and Andrews Archaeological District, preserving the locations of significant cultural heritage sites near the Baca Siding railroad point. The corridor is a study in transport and utility, where the El Paso Natural Gas Pipeline and various county roads, such as County Rd 23, cut through the landscape alongside historical points like the Prewitt Post Office.
