Bitterroot National Forest dominates this mountain landscape, defined by a series of parallel drainages flowing eastward from high alpine divides. These waterways, including Fred Burr Cr, Sheafman Creek, Mill Creek, and Blodgett Creek, carve deep valleys between high ridges like Printz Ridge and Romney Ridge. The topography is marked by numerous high-altitude lakes such as Aichele Lake, Knaack Lake, and Garrard Lake, which cluster around the prominent Castle Crag. Evidence of managed water resources is seen at the Fred Burr Reservoir, situated near the northern edge of the survey area. This portion of Ravalli County remains largely undeveloped, with Sheafman Creek Rd providing the primary vehicular access into the complex system of forest drainages and peaks like Mill Point.
