St. Florian and the surrounding Lauderdale County landscape are defined by the winding waters of Wilson Lake and the numerous tributaries that feed it. This 2018 survey documents a region characterized by its creek-carved topography, featuring Shoal Creek, Butler Creek, and Sixmile Cr. Historically significant sites like Bailey Springs and Pruitton are situated among a network of rural roads, including the Jackson Hwy. The map provides excellent genealogical detail, marking numerous small family and community burial grounds such as Oak Hill Cem, Cauhorn Cem, and Harrison Cem. The crossing at Goose Shoals Bridge over Shoal Creek highlights the local importance of these water crossings in connecting the dispersed settlements of Green Hill and Holloway.
