Starvation Reservoir dominates the eastern landscape, where the waters of the Strawberry River are impounded within a complex system of high-desert canyons. The area is defined by a series of dramatic erosional features, from the broad Rabbit Gulch to the narrow corridors of Skitzy Canyon and Weent Hollow. To the north, Blacktail Ridge provides a prominent high point overlooking the network of seasonal drainages like Saleratus Wash and Sink Draw.
