The Racetrack area of Anaconda-Deer Lodge County is defined by a complex network of water management features and historical transport routes. At the base of the mountains, the Powell Reservoirs feed into Powell Cr, while the larger Clark Fork river flows through the valley floor. Irrigation and drainage systems are prominent across the landscape, including the W Side Canal and Morrison Ditch, which support the agricultural life of the region.
