Gallatin National Forest encompasses the high-altitude terrain documented in this 2014 survey of Sweet Grass County. The landscape is defined by the sharp elevations of the Crazy Mountains, where Raspberry Butte and Kid Royal Mtn overlook a complex network of drainage basins. The headwaters of several prominent streams, including Little Timber Cr, Swamp Creek, and Sawmill Cr, carve through the forest. High-elevation features like the Beley Lakes sit tucked beneath the peaks. Human passage through this wilderness is marked by isolated corridors such as Fetter Rd and Swamp Creek Rd, which provide access to the various forks of S Fork Big Timber Cr and the southern reaches of the mountain range.
