Bluff and the surrounding San Juan Valley define the southern landscape of this 2017 San Juan County survey. The San Juan River carves through the lower terrain, flanked by notable landmarks such as Turners Bluff and the rising elevations of Casa del Eco Mesa. To the north, the topography is dominated by extensive tablelands including McCracken Mesa and the distinctive geological formation known as Recapture Pocket.
