Mt Beulah and the dramatic formation known as The Cathedral anchor this high-elevation survey of the Uinta Mountains. The landscape is defined by the headwaters of the Bear River system, with the Right Hand Fork E Fork Bear River and Left Hand Fork E Fork Bear River draining north from the divide. The transition between the Wasatch National Forest and the Ashley National Forest occurs near the Summit Co and Duchesne Co line, crossing the spine of the range at Red Knob Pass. This area is characterized by numerous glacial lakes, including Allsop Lake, Norice Lake, and Lake Lorena, which sit within deep basins like Cataract Basin. The southern portion of the map includes part of the High Uintas Primitive Area, illustrating the protected wilderness character of this summit-rich terrain near Yard Peak.
