Wasatch National Forest and Ashley National Forest meet along a dramatic high-altitude divide in this 2017 survey of the Uinta Mountains. The landscape is defined by its glacial hydrology, with E Fork Blacks Fork and W Fork Blacks Fork flowing north into Wyoming, while the E Fork Bear River drains the western slopes. Topographical highlights include The Cathedral and Mt Beulah, which dominate the central skyline. Long-distance trekking is represented by the Uinta Highline trail, which traverses the southern portion of the map near Red Knob Pass. Numerous alpine lakes, including Lake Ejod, Lake Lorena, and Norice Lake, dot the high basins, reflecting the area's role as a vital water catchment for the region. The boundary between Summit Co and Duchesne Co follows the jagged ridgeline through Red Knob.
