The landscape is defined by its distinct volcanic and geological elevations, including the prominent volcanic Lookout Butte and the nearby heights of Buckskin Mtn. In the northern portion of the quadrangle, the Tule Springs Rims form a significant escarpment overlooking the drainage basins below.
