Red Top is the focal point of this Eastern Montana landscape, situated at the junction of several rural routes in Dawson County. The settlement and its immediate surroundings are defined by a grid of agricultural section lines and the drainage patterns of Thirteenth Creek and its tributary, the North Fork Thirteenth Creek. A significant marker for local historians and genealogists is the Red Top Mennonite Cemetery, located just north of the community center along Road 523.
