Rimrock Lake dominates this high-altitude landscape, its shoreline defined by the impoundment of the North Fork Tieton River and South Fork Tieton River. The Tieton Dam regulates these waters at a spillway elevation of 2,922 feet, supporting a recreation-focused environment that includes several boat ramps and the Indian Creek Campground. This 1967 survey, later photorevised to reflect 1983 conditions, illustrates the transition between the managed waters of the reservoir and the protected high country of the William O Douglas Wilderness.
