This 2015 survey illustrates the dense network of Forest Service and local access roads, such as Parkway Rd and Camp 5 Rd, that crisscross the transition between the Marinette and Oconto county lines. The area is dominated by glacial hydrology, with numerous kettle lakes and tributaries like the Rat River, Swamp Cr, and Brandywine Cr feeding into the main river system. Pockets of settlement and recreation are evident near Brandywine Lake, Looney Lake, and Crandall Lake, where smaller lanes like Hemlock Shores Rd and Poachers Run Ln provide access to the water's edge amidst the surrounding timberland.
