The Neosho River valley and its surrounding uplands define this portion of the Kansas plains, where the border of Allen and Neosho counties meets. Small agricultural settlements like Leanna and Odense serve as central nodes for the surrounding rural sections, each anchored by its respective burial ground, Leanna Cem and Odense Cem. The landscape is heavily dissected by an intricate drainage network including Big Creek, Pecan Cr, and Turkey Br, which flow toward the primary river corridor in the south. Near the settlement of Rollin, the terrain levels out as Mud Cr approaches the larger river system.
