Roseburg serves as the central settlement in this rural landscape, situated just north of the border between Sanilac Co and St Clair Co. The terrain is defined by a dense network of agricultural drainage systems and natural waterways, including the Black River and several of its tributaries like Black Cr and Seymour Cr. These watercourses, along with man-made features such as the William Doan Drain and Crouce Drain, illustrate the long-standing effort to manage the local water table for farming.
