Round Top rises above the high plains of Morgan County, anchoring a landscape defined by industrial water management and agricultural irrigation. The northern section of the quadrangle is dominated by the Pawnee Raw Water Reservoir and the Pawnee Evaporation Pond 1, 2, and 3 Reservoir, critical infrastructure for regional water storage and utility operations. These modern water features are joined by a historic network of irrigation channels, including the Fort Morgan Canal and the Upper Platte and Beaver Canal, which carve through the grid of county roads to support the local farming economy.
