The Richmond National Battlefield Park preserves the complex terrain where the Chickahominy drainage meets the historic uplands of Charles City and Henrico counties. This 2022 survey captures the modern landscape of the Seven Days Battles area, where the Glendale National Cemetery stands as a permanent fixture near the Glendale crossroads. The terrain is defined by its watercourses, from the slow-moving Chickahominy River and Crumps Swamp in the north to the network of Turkey Island Cr and Salem Run to the south.
