Ruby Dome and the surrounding high-altitude terrain of the Ruby Mountains define this section of Elko County within the Humboldt National Forest. The landscape is dominated by glacial features, including numerous alpine basins such as Seitz Canyon and Echo Canyon, alongside high-elevation lakes like Lamoille Lake, Liberty Lake, and Favre Lake. These water bodies are connected by a network of drainage systems, including Kleckner Cr and Lamoille Cr, which flow through deep-cut valleys like Thomas Canyon.
