Cebolla Cr and Powderhorn Cr converge in the northern portion of this landscape, defining a network of drainages that includes Dry Powderhorn Cr and Road-Beaver Cr. The terrain is characterized by a series of high ridges and parks, such as Horse Park, Johnson Park, and Dempsey Parks, which represent the open-range geography of this high-elevation region. Evidence of early settlement is concentrated near the river valleys, most notably at the Powderhorn Cem situated along Co RD 27. To the south, the boundary between Gunnison and Hinsdale counties crosses the deep cut of Fish Canyon and the prominent Fish Canyon Ridge. Water sources like Tenmile Springs, Hidden Lake, and Bowers Lakes are scattered among the gulches, while landmarks like Rudolph Hill and Swinehart Ridge provide significant topographic relief.
