The Iosepa Cemetery serves as a significant cultural landmark on this eastern edge of the desert, situated west of the rising slopes of Salt Mountain. This 2011 survey reveals a landscape defined by the transition from the arid basin floor to the foothills of the Stansbury Mountains. Sparse settlement is represented by the Deseret Ranch and Delle Ranch, reflecting the region's enduring ranching economy. Water sources are critical features in this dry environment, appearing as isolated points like Horseshoe Springs, Delle Springs, and Rock Bottom Pond. To the east, the terrain becomes increasingly complex, dissected by numerous drainages including Big Granite Canyon, Little Granite Canyon, and Pass Canyon, which lead into the higher elevations of the range. The inclusion of Pass Canyon Rd highlights the primary route through this rugged topography.
