The San Cayetano Mountains rise sharply above the Arizona landscape in this modern topographic study of Santa Cruz County. Dominating the central terrain, San Cayetano Peak and Mt. Shibell anchor a complex system of drainages, including Alamo Canyon and Fresno Canyon. To the northeast, the map detail extends into the Coronado National Forest, where the settlement of Alto and the steep Alto Gulch reflect the area's long association with mining and ranching.
