Roskruge Mountains peaks dominate the northern portion of this Pima County landscape, including the high points of Sharp Peak and Dobbs Buttes. The desert terrain transitions from these heights down into the Altar Valley, where the drainage of Mendoza Wash and Brawley Wash defines the water movement of the region. Local settlements are represented by San Pedro and Nawt Vaya, which are connected by a network of rural routes such as Indian Rte 41 and San Pedro Rd.
