Osceola National Forest dominates much of this landscape, where the flatwoods of Baker and Union counties meet a complex network of wetlands and small watercourses. The northern reaches are anchored by the settlement of Sanderson and the rail-adjacent Manns Spur, while the southern area transitions into the low-lying basins of Swift Cr Pond and Wampee Bay. This terrain is defined by the slow movement of water through the S Prong Saint Marys River and expansive wetlands like Mud Lake Swamp and Turkey Creek Swamp.
