Santa Catalina Island narrows to its isthmus at the settlement of Two Harbors, where the land separates the Pacific Ocean from the San Pedro Channel. This western portion of the island is defined by steep ridges and isolated coastal landings, including Johnsons Landing and Parsons Landing along the northern shore. The terrain rises sharply to Silver Peak and Mount Torquemada, with the Silver Peak Trl tracing the high ground above the harbor.
